​An Apple A Day is series of oil and acrylic paintings on canvas, which are currently in progress, and digital print studies about health, wellness, and the immune system. Some of the ideas explored within this series include how both interior and exterior factors affect the immunity and health of the individual, the relationship between emotional and physical fitness, the use of symbols associated with original sin in the Bible in American proverb and medicine, the way that past generations affect bodies living in the present via our DNA, the possibility of reincarnation, and the spiritual side of health and wellbeing that we do not yet fully understand from a scientific perspective. The artist lives with an auto-immune disease herself and is thus constantly thinking about the many interrelated factors that affect human health and wellness.
